Challenge
The aim of the project was to expand upon previous efforts by the City of Sieradz to develop a citywide video surveillance system, designed to enhance public safety. Prior to the project launch, Sieradz operated 33 surveillance cameras. The investment resulted in the installation of over 100 additional units.
solution
The projectincluded the installation of 28 PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) cameras, 70 fixed cameras, and 6 multisensor cameras.A dedicated monitoring center was created, featuring an operator workstationand a modern server room equipped with uninterruptible power supply (UPS),gas-based fire suppression, air conditioning, and access control. The deployed cameras and advanced analytics software enabled automatic licenseplate recognition and the detection of potential threats such as gatherings, masked individuals, or perimeter breaches.Additionally, the system’s audio analytics can identify sounds associated withgunshots, explosions, or breaking glass.

SUMMARY

During project implementation, we faced numerous technical and procedural challenges. One of the biggest was designing and securing all necessary permits for installing surveillance points and running new cabling across areas under heritage protection and those managed by multiple road authorities.
